Although The Covid-19 pandemic is a concerning health crisis, there are other economic and welfare costs beyond those associated with mortality induced by the disease. The policy- and individual-level behavioral responses to the pandemic have led to significant supply and demand shocks across the world, triggering the deepest recession since the Great Depression of the 1930s.
