Kumar Ankit has wide expertise in the field of social entrepreneurship, social forestry and rural development. He is an MBA from XLRI Jamshedpur and an engineer from Jabalpur Engineering College. Ankit had started his company, Green Leaf Energy Pvt. Ltd. under the guidance of XLRI Entrepreneurship Development Centre just 15 days into his MBA. Ankit plans to open new ventures in the field of food processing, biodiesel and waste management. He has been successful in getting 3 of his batch mates from XLRI to join his venture. He regularly conducts workshop on social forestry and MGNREGA for government officials. He has taken many sessions on entrepreneurship and rural development for IAS trainees and MBA students.

Green Leaf Energy Private Limited The company was established in 2009. The company works on the integrated value chain in biofuel and horticulture plantation. The company was one of the first companies in India to do convergence with MGNREGA and link employment generation with tree plantation. In 2012-13 alone, the company successfully completed plantation of 7 million saplings leading to sustainable employment for 1.4 lakh families across Bihar.
